The Software Shootout has been a staple of the IDRC. This
page provides access to historical sets of Shootout data, as well as the
data set for the next IDRC Software Shootout when it becomes available.
There have been a couple of
inquiries about using the 2006 data set in publications. Click here to get the official
acknowledgment needed to appear in the any publication using the data set.
The data for the 2006 IDRC shoot-out session is now
available. You can find the instructions and rules for this event by
clicking here - 2006 Shootout Rules.
The data set is available in many formats. The data can be downloaded
by selecting the appropriate link below. These files have been zipped,
but they are still quite large!
In the MATLAB, NSAS and JCAMP formats,
missing constituent information is indicated by a value of -1 replacing
the missing data. In the Unscrambler format, missing constituent data is
indicated with the normal Unscrambler symbol of lower-case "m" replacing
the missing data.
Additionally, the Unscrambler, JCAMP
and MATLAB formats have the spectral data from 350 to 2500 nm in 1 nm
increments, while the NSAS format has the spectral data from 400 to 2498
nm at 2 nm increments. Please note that the data is in units of Reflectance. NOTE - The units
on the NSAS file indicate absorbance only to allow the Vision software
to read the file. The spectral data is ALL in REFLECTANCE.
Matlab -
62MB
Unscrambler - 36MB
NSAS - 17MB
JCAMP-DX -

Also, the signal to noise ratio information below is
provided. The details for this are as follows. The instrument
was warmed up for 4 hours. Repeated scans of the white Spectralon
reference were collected approximately every 30 seconds. This was repeated
for approximately 5 days in a row. The S/N was scaled such that the
sum(S/N)^2 = 1. The exact number of repeated scans is not known.
S/N data - 200KB in excel format
Parameter Description file - 16KB in Excel format NEW!
8/19/2006 - Now that the 2006 conference is complete we have the
validation results available for download. This is in Excel - Validation File.
